#MockDraftMonday....MMQB on a Tuesday

Last night I completed my first live mock draft of the fantasy pre-season and well, it was sloppy and fairly unorganized. Personally I hate "live" mock drafts because most of the people who sign up make three picks then bounce. So the drafts basically go according to whatever pre-set rankings were made by the website.

Now obviously live drafts are gonna prepare you for the real deal later in August, but simulated drafts are the way to go. I will never not endorse fantasypros.com. It is the best website for content and the draft wizard is second to none as a tool.

Now to the Mock and my picks. I'll try not to bore you with details as most of these were gut picks and strategy moves I like to make. Everyone will most likely have done something different.

1.1 - Le'Veon Bell

Set and forget. Sure there are injury concerns, hold-out concerns, and well that's about it but Bell has been a stud every year he has been in the league, never averaging less then 13 points (Rookie year). He just hitting his peak at age 26, but eventually it seems that all the touches will eventually start adding up.

I'd take him over Gurley because as of now, Bell has been doing it longer and more consistently. Gurley had a great year, but he is definitely in line for negative regression.

**From here on out I will be going two rounds at a time due to having back to back picks.**

2.12 - Adam Thielen
3.1 - Doug Baldwin

For these back to back picks my thinking was simple. Since I had a bell-cow RB who was starting every week he isn't hurt or on bye, I could focus on the thinning WR pool and create a solid tandem with these two picks.

Kirk Cousins is a better QB than Keenum. Sorry it's true and with Dalvin Cook coming back to take pressure off of the passing game. Adam "Hooked On A" Thielen is easily going to hit 100 catches and 1,000 yards.

Getting Doug Baldwin as my "2nd" WR is something I will always feel good about. He is always underrated and forgot about because he isn't as flashy as the other top WR. But he has a solid floor and with Richardson and Graham gone, there are more targets to go around. and by that I mean to Baldwin.

4.12 - Jarvis Landry
5.1 - Derrius Guice

These back to back picks are where I started to panic a little. Don't get me wrong I like Landry but in a new offense and well on the Browns. He's solid but it'll be hard to tell until I see him play week 1.

Guice was the best RB on the board when I made the pick. You can ask anyone who know me and the guys I play with in my main League. I Like rookies and nothing I like more then rookie RB's who have the opportunity to start. Fresh legs and opportunity = fantasy gold. Also the kid is a beast check out the video below.

6.12 - Cooper Kupp
7.1 - Duke Johnson Jr.
8.12 - Chris Thompson
9.1 - Jamaal Williams

The next four rounds I spent solidifying my depth at RB. I was fairly Comfortable with my 4 WR so I decided to load up on pass catching backs. PPR makes these backs relevant and reliable flex's and potential RB2's

Duke has to compete with Rookie Chubb for touches but will remain the main pass catching back and the veteran. Let's not forget what Tyrod Taylor does for RB's and specifically pass catching RB's like Shady McCoy.

Thompson was a stud last year and he will have plenty of catches to be a solid flex. He would also be insurance in case Guice doesn't work out and or gets hurt.

Williams is my 5th RB and basically my flyer. A guy in a crappy situation that can easily become a fantasy diamond in the rough if one or both the other committee mates get hurt or plain suck.

10.12 - Kyle Rudolph
11.1 - Tyler Lockett
12.12 - Charles Clay
13.1  - Matt Ryan
14.12 - Marcus Mariota
15.1 - Titans D/ST
16.12 - Ryan Succop

This part of the draft is where things fall into place and strategy pays off. I think waiting on TE and QB is crucial to success. it helps bolster the depth of your bench at the positions that matter and ultimately the QB position is deep.

Rudolph in the 10th will never not be a steal. He has been solid for a long time and will get targets fed to him from Cousins, who was a big fan of Jordan Reed when he was still on the Redskins. Charles Clay is sneaky been solid and will be there for when the matchup is preferable or Rudolph gets hurt.

It's been said for a long time, and I will probably do a blog on it this year, but wait on QB. this year us quite honestly the deepest I have ever seen the position. I screwed up two years ago when I noticed Matt Ryan ranked in the 20's. His 2nd year in a offense will bear fruit, getting him here wont keep me up at night. Mariota has potential but he'd be dropped in a minute if anyone becomes available on the waiver wire that is hard to pass up.

D/ST and kicker can kick rocks. They are basically pointless when it comes to mock drafts.

Well that's it! Probably a bit of a chore to read but go screw, I'm still new to this. I can only promise it will get better from here. Please comment and give me a follow. I will take all the suggestions and criticism I can get.
