Incredibles 2 Review....Just as incredible as last time?

To break up the constant boring of my ramblings of Fantasy Football. I feel that it's in my best interest and yours to write blogs on other various things that are culturally important. Also I saw Incredibles 2 over the weekend and I feel like you should know about it.

***SOME SPOILERS BELOW***

Let me start off by saying that Disney poops gold. Even their worst movie still makes a billion or so dollars. Nothing they ever put out is bad, some are just more preferable than others. In the case of Incredibles 2, it sits about in the middle of all the other Pixar movies that have come out.

The movie picks up right where the first one ends which is perfect because after 14 years of watching the same cliffhanger to the first one, they absolutely needed to show how this super family works as a team. It was short and sweet but a good introduction to the world that was established long ago. After the very entertaining set piece, we are hit with the real meat of the plot. The animation still looks as good as ever and Pixar really knows how to make cartoons that are unrealistic look believable.

It's here that I'd have to say the movie loses me. The plot is interesting enough but not complex to really make you think. Elastigirl is the main focus this time around while Mr. Incredible is stuck doing math and changing diapers. It's not that Elastigirl's part of the story sucked it was just bland action for the sake of action. The more interesting scenes were the family dynamic of the Parr's and how they dealt with normal family situations. That being said, there just wasn't a whole lot going on.

My personal opinion is that any superhero movie is only as good as the villain. Marvel hasn't done to well in this regard but lately, like Black Panther and Infinity War, they have had compelling villains and are both considered two of the best super hero movies of all time. The villain in Incredibles 2 though, is just plain terrible. Just a faceless character at first but the plot twist semi makes up for it. you really never feel for the villain the same way you did for Syndrome in the first movie.

The only thing that matters is Jack-Jack. The youngest of the family, with the most powers. Every time he is on screen it was electric. Every sound the kid made caused laughs from the audience and rightfully so. The Jack-Jack hype is real and honestly made waiting 14 years to see his powers for an entire movie worth it.the scene with the raccoon is honestly the best and funniest scene in a movie I have seen in a while.

All in all, def a movie worth seeing but probably closer to a movie you should wait to see on a Tuesday for $5. Not must see but for sure a movie worth checking out.

Smokin' Score: 7.2
