Sam's Pre-Draft RB Rankings

1. Adrian Peterson - Though a 30 year old RB would scare most off as the top pick, I'll take my chances with the future HOF whose coming back after a year off due to suspension. Many see no rust on the guy during OTA's so to me, that's all systems go for All Day.

2. Eddie Lacy - Maybe once Lynch retires we can pass on the Beast Mode nickname to Lacy because that's exactly what he is a BEAST. A slow start to last season caused some to worry, but those who stuck with him were rewarded. Though GB is a pass first offense, he is still the bell-cow with no competition and can even catch passes out of the backfield.

3. Jamaal Charles - Of all the RB's on the board, it's possible no one does more for their team then Charles. He runs and catches the football and is a threat to score on any play which ultimately is really fun to watch. A reduction in carries the past year and injury concerns are the risk that comes with Charles, but if you handcuff him with Kniles Davis there wont be much to worry about.

4. Marshawn Lynch - Lynch has had consistent production in the years since he has joined the Seattle Seahawks, his second nickname should Old Faithful. All that being said the amount of carries combined with his age is scary because you never know if this is the season he finally hits the wall.

5. LeVeon Bell - Only second behind DeMarco Murray as fantasy's #1 RB, Bell turned in a season for the ages that included rushing TD's and receiving. Unfortunately as of this blog he is suspended the first 3 games of the season thus lowering his value. If you do grab him and can wait out the suspension, you got yourself a bonafide #1 overall pick for a mid first round pick.

6. Arian Foster - It was only a few years ago that Foster was the top RB commodity in fantasy and I expect him to reach that pinnacle, if not close to it, this year. Bill O'Brien reassured all of us that if Foster is healthy he will be running the ball which is just fantastic. Couple that with his outstanding work in the passing game and you'll have yourself a nice RB1

7. Matt Forte - For awhile now Forte has consistently been a top 10 RB when it comes to draft time and this season is no different. Age has has treated Forte well for now but that could easily change this season, that being said, he has no real competition behind him which makes him a valuable RB to own.

8. C.J. Anderson - Anderson burst onto the scene last year after the hype built around Montee Ball amounted to nothing. He seized the starting role and is set to start the year #1 on the depth chart, but Ball and Hillman will likely get their fair share of touches. Working a lot in his favor is the scheme that new head coach Kubiak likes to run which propelled other fantasy stars like Foster and more recently Forsett.

9. DeMarco Murray - Before last year, I personally would never have pegged Murray to play all 16 games in 2014 and also lead the league in rushing yards and was I wrong. I'm gonna be cynical again and say it won't happen again like last year due to a myriad of reasons. This year he isn't playing behind the leagues best O-line and has more competition for touches in the form of Ryan Matthews and Darren Sproles. While all those things are true, I'd still be happy with him as my RB1 if drafted in the 2nd round

10. Jeremy Hill - When Cincy drafted Hill, a year after drafting Bernard, most wondered what that would mean for the rookie. The first month of the season yielded few touches for Hill, but when Bernard went down with an injury, Hill took off, literally, down the field and into our fantasy loving hearts. He is now the #1 back in a run heavy offense but will still have to sit plays out due to Bernard being a factor in the passing game, draft wisely if going with him as your RB1

11. LeSean McCoy - In arguably the biggest move of the off-season, McCoy is now the #1 RB in a ground and pound Rex Ryan offense. Some will point to last year as a mark against the RB after having a down year for a player generally drafted 1 or 2. That wouldn't scare me though if I'm getting him this year at this kind of a price.

12. Justin Forsett - A waiver wire darling last year, Forsett proved that being diligent on the waiver wire can help win championships. This year though I expect him to be the #12 RB off the board due to his hard nosed running and pass catching abilities which means you can get him in possibly the 3rd round though I suggest taking him late 2nd because he wont be there after.
